As a full time teacher, mother and artist I find myself constantly on the move. My art is what grounds me and gives me time to reflect on the places I visit and time to breath and create. I received my undergraduate degree from Cornish College of the Arts. There I studied fine art with a focus in photography and video. While living in Seattle I had several exhibitions of my video installations which melded photography, video and animation. After graduation I moved back to Portland where I was working as a freelance video editor, photographer and graphic designer. I was also teaching animation and video at the NW Film Center. Eventually I decided to go for my degree in Education so I could become an art teacher.

I spent the next five years teaching media art at a high school and raising my daughter. That time was very rewarding, but I found myself wanting to focus more on my own work so I decided to start grad school at PNCA where I received my MFA in Visual Studies in the Low Residency program while continuing to teach k-8th grade art. I am now teacher ceramics and digital art at the high school level.  I am currently working with the idea of memory, and digital manipulation and the role it plays in photography. My ceramic work and watercolor work explores memory, nature and my personal connection with the natural world.
